At around 9:00 AM, Jio 4G users across Indore started seeing their Jio network go into a complete blackout. Within minutes, #Jiodown was trending on Twitter with thousands of users across the state reporting complete blackouts.
According to an outage detection website ‘Downdetector’, there was a sharp increase in Jio outage reports on Wednesday morning, with as many as 4,000 users reporting an outage.
Reliance-owned broadband services down too
According to many users contacted by The Outlooker team, Reliance-owned broadband services Hathway and JioFibre were also down early in the morning. However, JioFibre services were restored promptly and Hathway came back up at around 11:00 AM.
The reason for this outage is currently not known. When The Outlooker web desk reached out to Reliance Jio for a comment on the situation, no response was received. However, the JioCare Twitter handle responded to one customer that “this is temporary & our teams are working on the same to resolve it as soon as possible”.
Other carriers working properly
