Tamil Nadu Assembly Election 2021 Results: Counting of votes in Tamil Nadu – along with three other states of West Bengal, Kerala, Assam and the Union Territory of Puducherry – will start at 8 AM on 2nd May. In Tamil Nadu, elections were held in 234 assembly seats. The fate of 4,218 candidates will be decided in the state polls, the first one, held after the death of former chief minister, J Jayalalithaa in 2018. The AIADMK and the DMK are the key contestants. Tamil Nadu saw a single phase election and the voter turnout was about 72.78 per cent on April 6. According to a poll of exit polls, the DMK is predicted to come to power in Tamil Nadu. MK Stalin and allies are forecast to win at least 160 seats, while the AIADMK and its allies are predicted to win 66 seats. The Tamil Nadu elections were held amid the coronavirus pandemic, just as cases began to surge in the second wave of COVID-19.
