A case has been reported in Indore, in which a vegetarian Brahmin youth discovered bones in the vegetable biryani he ordered at a hotel. The youth has filed a police report, and videos of the incident are circulating on social media.
Akash Dubey, a Brahmin youth from Shalimar Township in Indore, visited Alba Bistro (an in-house restaurant run by Hotel Alba Premier) in front of C21 Mall, Vijay Nagar, on Sunday night for dinner. He ordered vegetable biryani but was instead served non-vegetarian biryani. When he began eating the biryani, two bones fell out onto his plate. When he complained to the hotel operator, the operator denied any mistake and ignored him. As a result, the young man sought help from the police. The police have filed a case under section 298 of the Indian Penal Code for hurting religious sentiments.
The victim stated that he is a Brahmin by caste and that this incident deeply hurt his religious sentiments. He also said that it is unlikely for a mistake like this to be made in such a large restaurant, but if the hotel operator had admitted the mistake, he would not have gone to the police.
According to the station in-charge, Ravindra Gurjar, Akash went to the Alba Bistro Hotel in Bhamori, Vijayanagar, on Sunday to eat vegetarian Biryani. When he began eating the Biryani, two bones fell out. After attempting to speak with the hotel management and being ignored, the hotel operator allegedly abused him. As a result, Akash went to the police station with the bone, photos, and videos of the incident. In view of the seriousness of the matter, the station in-charge filed a case under section 298.
The station in-charge stated that a mistake like this cannot be tolerated at a hotel, and the hotel operator has been called to the police station for further investigation. Videos of the incident are also circulating on social media. This disturbing incident serves as a reminder of the importance of ensuring the purity of food, especially for those with specific dietary restrictions due to religious beliefs.
