The wife of the current President of Sri Lanka, Mr. Anura Kumara Dissanayake, is reported to have a strong devotion to the ‘Born Again’ religious sect, which has raised serious suspicions among Buddhist and Catholic religious leaders in Sri Lanka.
It is said that the President has been granting various positions and privileges to the heads of the ‘Born Again’ religious sect. It is also said that the fact that the First Lady has been hiding and not appearing in public at any time has also been a strong reason to confirm that suspicion.
Several religious leaders in Sri Lanka have requested the President to provide a date and time for a discussion to further clarify the rumours circulating in this regard, but he has reportedly avoided the discussion.
As such rumours continue to spread about the First Lady, in response, the President has been demonstrating his devotion to religion and the Buddhism’s Dhamma by participating in religious programs at monasteries in a very devout manner in recent days, which is being exaggerated and publicized through the Sri Lankan government media.
The Catholic Church, including Malcolm Ranjith, is also fighting against the activities of the ‘Born Again’ sects operating in Sri Lanka.
