The two-day cadre training programme was attended by as many as 155 block committee presidents from eastern UP Zone. The training programme was attended by block committee president’s from Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Kushinagar, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Varanasi and Gorakhpur districts.

The main emphasis of training was ideology, organisation, social media and political issues. Experts from UP and other parts of country were engaged to train Congress leaders. While inaugurating the two-day training programme, State Congress President said that it was the beginning and later on entire state would be covered to strengthen the party organisation to face the assembly elections for better performance.

AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi also addressed the training session through mobile phone and said that block unit was the main pillar of the party organisation which will strengthen the party for next assembly polls. Priyanka said that next election would be contested on the basis of ideology. She further alleged that central government was safeguarding the interest of big business houses and was against farmers.

Congress leaders feel that micro level planning of Priyanka Gandhi to set up booth level committee and appointing block president’s and involving them in training programme, would certainly help party in assembly polls in 2022.
