Mumbai: The RSS head Mohan Bhagwat said on Sunday that castes were created by Brahmins. He said, “When we live today, we have a responsibility to society. If everything is done for society, no work can be small or big. God has always said that everyone is equal and there is no caste, race, or community, this was created by Brahmins who are wrong.”

Bhagwat spoke about caste-based discrimination in society, saying that the benefits of the oppressed classes have been taken advantage of by others. “These people have invaded the country and taken advantage of the situation”. He asked, “Are the fears of the Hindu society being destroyed becoming visible? This can only be understood, not explained by a Brahmin. Our responsibility towards society is also part of our existence. How can there be a distinction between high and low, or different, when everything is for the benefit of society?”

The RSS leader made these remarks during a program held on the occasion of the birthday of Saint Rohidas in Mumbai. He said that the country’s awareness and consciousness are the same, without any differences. Only beliefs are different, religion has not been attempted to be changed. He further said that to change religion, one should leave it, like Babasaheb Ambedkar. It is up to us to change the situation, like saints Rohidas, Tulsidas, Kabir, and others.

Bhagwat said that he is lucky to speak about Saint Rohidas today. Saint Rohidas and Babasaheb have worked to establish harmony in society. Saint Rohidas showed the way for the development of the country and society. They have provided the tradition necessary for strengthening society and moving forward. Saint Rohidas said that according to religion, one should act. Connect the entire society and work for its improvement is the true religion. Just thinking about oneself and filling one’s stomach is not religion.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj wrote a letter to Aurangzeb.

He said that after the Kashi temple was destroyed, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj wrote a letter to Aurangzeb, saying “Hindus and Muslims are all children of the same God. In your kingdom, one is committing atrocities, this is wrong. It is your duty to respect everyone. If it does not stop, I will give its answer with the sword.”
